I am a professional goldsmith, jewelry designer, and artist. I also love dogs.

I love making jewelry. And when you love something, don't you want to share
it with the rest of the world?
There is a sense of idealism--or is it optimism?--in my work. Peace is a central
theme in my jewelry, though I also gravitate toward shapes found in nature and
other organic forms that seem to take on a life of their own as I create them. I
tend to make jewelry that is casual and comfortable, as this is the kind of
jewelry I like to wear.
I use a variety of techniques in my jewelry, including metalsmithing, which I
have studied since 2001. Other techniques include beading, wire-wrapping, and
sculpting PMC (precious metal clay).
All of my jewelry is designed and handmade by me in my Los Angeles studio.
My creative expressions originally came to life in the form of pet portraits,
many of which are part of private collections all over the United States. My
interest in creating art eventually led me to jewelry design and I enrolled in a
handmade jewelry class at the University of California, Los Angeles and then
instruction in a private studio, which I still attend weekly. The inspiration
and support I find there is invaluable to my enrichment as a jewelry artist.
I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a
Bachelor of Arts in Screenwriting in 1990. Previous careers include
web content and design and
international education research. I have
written and contributed to several publications on educational systems
around the world, and many of my designs reflect the jewelry and adornments of
cultures I have studied.
My husband Mick and I live with two dogs named Kramer and Stuart, and we divide our time between Santa Monica, California and Rogue River, Oregon. In my spare time I like to read, run, and pet dogs.
